California Coast 18: Pfeiffer Falls, Big Sur. |

Image Commentary The Big Sur coastline has long held me in a thrall: the crashing surf, the green-blue ocean, the rugged cliffs and rocks, the mists and fog, the trees, the grey skies and the dampness, all combine to make a hobbit-like land that hints at all kinds of mystery and romance. Nowhere in my opinion is this more fulfilled than at the Pfeiffer State Park, where the redwoods, the ocean and the Pfeiffer Falls all meet. The drama of this entire coastline is nowhere better than here. |
